At the place of the memorial there is a square with a stele on which the inscription: “Glory to the Heavenly undred” and the names of 107 fallen heroes are engraved. On the stele itself, which is made of stainless steel, a trident and a falcon are depicted, the width of the wings of which is 1.5 meters when spread out.
As reported in the Zaporizhzhia City Hall, in February of this year, this commemorative sign, almost ready, was stored on the territory of the manufacturing plant in the Kyiv region. However, at the beginning of the full-scale war, when Kyiv region was occupied, Russian invaders entered the factory and stole gilding, metal structures and a trident from the “Monument of Honor and Dignity”, and some monuments with a similar concept, which were also kept at that factory, were completely destroyed. The Zaporizhzhia Monument is almost the only one that, although “wounded”, still did not surrender and “survived” that occupation.
